Tire change, wheel washing, and balancing for cars and vans.
Tires need to be replaced either when changing seasons or due to wear. During a tire change, the condition of the brakes and axles can also be assessed, and any visible issues can be addressed, as well as checked and adjusted on the axle stand if necessary.
- December 1 – March 1: Winter tires are mandatory.
- October 15 – March 31: Studded tires are allowed. In case of very severe weather conditions, studded tires may be used until April 30.
- April 1 – October 15: Driving with studded tires is prohibited.
Studless winter tires (lamella tires) are allowed year-round.
Tire balancing and tread depth are also important.
We recommend replacing tires due to wear sooner rather than later.
For summer tires, the minimum tread depth can be 1.6 mm, but for safety reasons, it is recommended to maintain a tread depth of around 3–4 mm. This ensures better vehicle stability on the road and largely prevents hydroplaning.
For winter tires or studded tires, the tread depth should be at least 3 mm, but preferably 5 mm or more. This provides better grip under challenging road conditions.
In addition, we make sure that your tires are always properly balanced and safe.
There are several reasons why tires may go out of balance, ranging from tire replacement to road impacts or issues with the suspension and steering systems.
How is a tire change performed?
- We lift the car using a hoist and remove the wheels.
- We wash off the dust and dirt accumulated on the wheels in a wheel washer.
- We remove the old balancing weights from the rims and clean off any adhesive residue.
- Valves are replaced if necessary.
- We remove the old tires from the rims and mount the new tires using modern tire changers that do not damage the rims or tires.
- Next, we balance the tires along with the rims on a modern balancing machine.
- We clean the wheel hubs and visually inspect the brake pads and discs.
- At the end of the tire change, we tighten the wheel bolts with a torque wrench.
- We inform the customer about any issues discovered during the tire change.
For better storage of the tires, we place the previous season’s wheels/tires in a special tire bag.
The bag is provided to the customer free of charge.
